Since this original post below was put on the Drum, there have been 986 Viewings and zero (0) responses; catipulting those stats into a negative direction @ of five times (X5) the previous rate.
With 2 1/2 years having gone by, it is no longer the leading topic, but the numbers still serve to make the point that the Drum (a representation of the STEWARDSHIP of the IABPFF' Membership) is failing to live up to expectations as projected by ITC, and WITHOUT input from the Membership.
This also unearths the point that Communication & other goals are being set without approval OF, or, BY > < the "Membership"!
This is indeed a teachable moment, that reiterates the necessity for the Membership's involvement in ALL Decisions that assumes automatic cooperation; via their financial support and most importantly, their PARTICIPATION.
The STARTing point to establish the Membership' role - as OWNERS, and provide an opportunity to give VOICE to same, would be at the beginning of EVERY MEETING! How <> by presenting every Agenda (at every level) to the Membership for their approval, and thereby, the opportunity to make adjustments to any given Agenda!
From an organizational perspective it accomplishes its two most important requirements;
* That Membership acts upon its ownership rights; * That Leadership becomes conditioned and/or re-conditioned to carry out the Membership mandate.
The missing quantity is - whether there is RESOLVE within the Membership to assume its rightful place.
I took the time to count the number of Views vs. Responses posted in this one area "Cultural Awareness and History! 1022 views & 5 responses. The purpose for this forum is EXCHANGE.
For those who venture into the Forum, ask yourselves "why am I going there". By way of analysis, provided by stats, the answer can easily be forecasted.
The President and E-Board need as much input & feedback from Chapter Presidents, as Members need from them.
THE ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESS IS A TWO WAY STREET.
